Legal Builders’ Bar

Rules

Please read these before you join the group or share a project.

  1. 1

    The house rule

    Keep real client information out

Never put real client information, or personal data about real people, into anything you build or share. Use made-up data instead, even for a quick test.

  2. 2

    Your professional duties still apply

Your duties as a lawyer, and your firm’s or employer’s policies, still apply when you build. Check them before you use AI tools on anything to do with work.

  3. 3

    Nothing here is legal advice

Projects and conversations here are for learning and trying ideas out. Don’t treat anything shared here as legal advice.

  4. 4

Be honest about what you share

When you share a project, say what works and what doesn’t work yet. It helps others know what to expect.

  5. 5

    Give credit

If your project builds on someone else’s idea or code, say so. Never present someone else’s work as your own.

  6. 6

    Don’t sell

Showing what you’ve built is fine, but don’t use the group or this site to sell your services or pitch for work.

  7. 7

Check before you rely on anything

We don’t endorse the projects shared here, so check any tool yourself before you rely on it.

  8. 8

    Breaking the rules

The organisers can remove anyone who breaks these rules from the group, and take down any project that breaks them.
